Gamification is the application of game design elements and principles—such as points, badges, leaderboards, challenges, and rewards—into learning environments. It transforms the learning process into an engaging and interactive experience by incorporating elements of fun and competition.
- Boost Engagement and Motivation: Gamification makes learning fun and rewarding, encouraging learners to stay committed and complete tasks.
- Reinforce Learning and Application: Interactive challenges and rewards help learners apply knowledge in practical scenarios, enhancing retention.
- Track Progress and Foster Competition: Leaderboards and scores provide real-time feedback, motivating learners through friendly competition.
At Eubrics, we offer two distinct types of gamification to cater to different learning needs and experiences: Journey Level Gamification and Module Wise Gamification.
Journey Level Gamification is designed for learning journeys that consist of multiple short modules, typically lasting 1-2 weeks each, and the overall journey completes within 1-2 months. This system focuses on quick learning bursts, where participants can earn points and badges as they complete modules on time. The gamification is simple, with an easy-to-understand point system and badges awarded based on timely completion. This approach encourages learners to stay on track and complete the journey without feeling overwhelmed by extended timelines.
- Ideal for: Short, quick modules (1-2 weeks each) with an overall journey duration of 1-2 months.
- Points System: Learners earn points based on their progress and timely completion.
- Badges: Two types of badges—one for completing modules on time, and another for not meeting the expected timeline.
- Simplicity: Straightforward gamification engine that motivates learners with easily achievable rewards.

Module Wise Gamification is tailored for longer modules that include both learning and action phases, often spanning several weeks. This system is ideal for journeys where each module involves habit formation and action-based learning, requiring participants to engage in real-world applications of their learning. It incorporates a robust gamification model, where participants are grouped into teams, earning points for individual achievements, team performance, consistency, and more. This type of gamification helps to sustain engagement over longer periods and encourages learners to stay consistent, apply what they’ve learned, and form lasting habits.
- Ideal for: Long, action-based modules with learning and action phases.
- Team Engagement: Participants are divided into teams and earn team points for collaboration and on-time completion.
- Varied Points: Points are awarded for different actions, including timely completion, consistency, and team contributions.
- Habit Formation: Designed for action-based learning that fosters habit formation and encourages real-world application.
- Continuous Learning: Supports daily/weekly unlocking to maintain participant engagement over an extended period.
Module wise gamification is available only for Action Based Habit Modules.

Rewards in gamification are designed to motivate learners, recognize their efforts, and promote consistent progress. They encourage engagement and timely completion, making the learning process more rewarding and fun.
- Motivation: Rewards drive learners to stay engaged and complete tasks.
- Recognition: Acknowledge efforts and progress with tangible rewards.
- Consistency: Encourage ongoing learning with rewards for consistent effort.
In Journey Level Gamification, participants earn badges based on their timely completion of modules. Each user can earn one badge per module, based on whether they complete the module on time or not.
- Trailblazer Badge: Awarded to users who complete a module on time.
- Perseverer Badge: Awarded to users who complete a module after the deadline, encouraging effort even if the timeline is missed.
- Total Badges: For a journey with 5 modules, each user has the potential to earn up to 5 badges, with one badge for each module based on their completion status.

In Module Wise Gamification, where modules include both learning and action phases, participants are rewarded for their consistency and engagement over the course of each module. Here’s how the reward system works:
- Bronze:
- Easy to Earn: Awarded for completing modules, especially when most items are unlocked in the first week.
- Achieved Quickly: If most content is unlocked early, participants who complete the module even on the last day will still earn the Bronze badge.
- First Week Achievement: Users who complete everything within the first week can easily earn this badge.
- Silver:
- Consistency is Key: Awarded to users who show consistent progress throughout the module.
- Not for Last-Minute Completion: Users who complete everything on the last day will not be awarded Silver, as this badge recognizes steady engagement.
- Gold:
- High Consistency: Awarded to users who show exceptional consistency and engagement across the module, completing tasks and action phases on time and consistently engaging in their learning journey.

¶ Rewarding Consistency and Engagement:
- Bronze: Easily achievable, especially for quick learners completing content early.
- Silver: Reflects consistency throughout the module.
- Gold: Reserved for highly consistent users, demonstrating top performance in both learning and application phases.
A Certificate of Completion is awarded to participants who successfully complete the module by meeting the required learning and action item criteria. This serves as both a recognition of achievement and a motivational tool to encourage consistent participation.
To earn a Certificate of Completion, participants must:
- Complete at least 10 mandatory learning items in the Learning Phase.
- Successfully complete at least 10 action items in the Action Phase.
- The certificate is automatically generated after the module deadline once the completion requirements are met.
- Participants can download their certificate from their module dashboard.
The certificate is part of the module-level rewards system, which includes:
- Medals (Gold, Silver, Bronze) based on total points earned.
- Completion Badge for users meeting the minimum module requirements.
- Leaderboards and Streak Points to encourage ongoing participation.

By incorporating a Certificate of Completion, Eubrics ensures that participants not only engage with the module but also receive formal recognition for their efforts in learning and habit formation.
